Hi there! I’m Dr. Lori Scott, one of the veterinarians here at Prairie Lake Veterinary Clinic. For those of you that don’t know me, I was born and raised on a farm in Texico, NM. In my younger years I was very active in FFA, 4-H, and even played sports for Texico High School (Go Wolverines!). It was through these organizations and my farming background that I decided at a young age that I wanted to become a veterinarian. Following my high school career I pursued my undergraduate education at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM, where I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Science, with minors in biology and biochemistry. From there, I moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to attend veterinary school at Colorado State University, where I graduated with my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Following my graduation I returned to my home town, to join Dr. Dawkins and the amazing team at Prairie Lake.
I have an amazing husband, Ryan, who keeps me sane, and never complains about the long hours I keep at the clinic. I also come home to an 8 year old mastiff named Gus, who is absolutely beautiful….. drool strands and all! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, crafting, gardening and every aspect of the outdoors.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to see you soon at Prairie Lake Veterinary Clinic!
